Joe Devlin has been attending Momentum’s Borders Brain Injury Service as he has poor short term memory and struggles with planning and organising.
Joe also attends Borders College where for the past two years he has shown outstanding commitment to the students association. During his time at college Joe has taken on many roles within the student association from class rep, faculty council chair, student representative council member, student ambassador and even running for media officer.
Joe however continues to support the association giving up his own time to come in over the summer to help plan fresher’s fairs, class rep training and faculty chair training.
Joe has achieved so much in his two years with creating tailored class rep training for access students, implementing a digital clock in the union for students with visual impairments and a very well policed pool table to name a few!
In thanks for Joe’s dedication and commitment to the student association he has just been given a special award for his outstanding commitment to the students association.
This is the first time this type of award has ever been given out and Joe was ‘chuffed’ to bits. Nothing is never too much trouble for Joe and he will always go out of his way to help someone.
