Sparkles Ball - Saturday 17 October

Wayne Patrick presenting completed his 1st marathon in September this year and presented the sponsorship he raised at the Sparkles Ball.

Sparkles Ball - Saturday 17th October, 2015

£2,600 raised in total - A big thank you to all of our lovely guests for coming along and supporting us, and to our sponsors for the evening:

Ruddy Joinery

Irwin Mitchell Solicitors Birmingham

The evening got off to a very glamorous start with our drinks reception in the fantastic Rotunda, followed by dinner and entertainment in the London Room.

On arriving at their tables, it was great to see our guests taking full advantage of the gifts on the table - black trilby hats and dark glasses.  And all put to good use when the live band entered the room - The Long Lost Blues Brothers, who were absolutely brilliant (declared by everyone).  From start to finish it was a true party atmosphere and the dance floor never emptied.

But of course there was a serious part to the evening, and when the band took a well earned break at 10.15, Trudi Hanson stood up and shared her own story with all of us.  Trudi told us how her own brain injury had not only affected herself, but her family also, and how her brain injury made her feel - very emotional.  Trudi is a very inspirational lady who had us all laughing and crying at the same time.  And if that wasn't enough, Wayne Patrick, a loyal supporter of the Midlands Sparkles ball since it started 5 years ago, last year was so inspired by Keeley who spoke on the evening that in September he ran the Nottingham marathon and raised more than £400 for our services.
